What documents are needed for the first examination?
In order to get to know your medical history more thoroughly, bring with you your previous ophthalmic findings and printed results of imaging tests, if a preliminary examination has already been performed. A referral is of course not required.
Can I drive a car immediately after the examination?
In most cases, a dilated fundus examination is required, so please bring a driver/attendant if you are coming by car. If pupil dilation is not required, this will be noted separately before the treatment (e.g. spectacle prescription, certain control tests)
Can I park on the clinic area?
Yes, we provide free outdoor parking for our patients on the Scharioth Estate.
Is it possible to buy food and drink on the clinic area (for example, at a buffet)?
There is no buffet or café directly on the clinic site.
Can I pay by credit card on site?
Yes, both credit card and cash payments are possible on the spot.
Can a relative/companion wait in the clinic while the patient is undergoing surgery?
Yes, surely they can wait for the patient in the clinic waiting room, right next to the operating theatre.
I would like to have eye surgery at the clinic. Will the operation take place on the day of the booked examination?
No, the surgery will be performed at a later appointment. Detailed measurements, patient information and preoperativ activity will be done on the booked day of the examination. In exceptional cases (e.g. a patient coming from a very long distance, from abroad), surgery can be arranged on the day of the examination, but this will be coordinated in advance.
